A GLIMPSE INTO THE April 25th WNL DISCUSSION FROM PASTOR DAWN
When our girls were young, they used to love “Where’s Waldo” books. If you’re not familiar with the series, these books feature detailed double page illustrations of people doing various things. Imbedded somewhere in the drawing was Waldo–a smiling boy with brown wavy hair dressed in a red and white striped shirt and ski cap and wearing round spectacles. As the title of the series suggests, the object of the books is to find Waldo in the crowd which isn’t always easy. Many of the illustrations contained red herrings involving the deceptive use of red and white striped objects to throw seekers off track. Like hunting for Waldo, although Jesus has promised to “be with us always,” sometimes his presence is difficult to detect even for the most faithful of disciples. On the night of the first Easter, even though Jesus was walking beside them and talking with them on the Road to Emmaus, two first century disciples almost missed our Lord completely. What kept them from recognizing Jesus? And perhaps more importantly, what keeps us from recognizing him? Get a sneak peek on Sunday’s sermon as Pastor Dawn leads a discussion on Luke 24:13-35 at Wednesday Night Live on April 25 from 6–6:45 p.m. Come and join the discussion; no one else can take your place! It’s better when you are there.
