Music Ministry at First Presbyterian Church

Welcome! My name is Matt Caine. I joined the staff in August, 2015 as the Director of Music.

If you have an interest in singing (traditional or contemporary), playing an instrument, ringing bells, or having your child/grandchild involved in children’s music, please email or call me immediately. We NEED YOU.  My contact information is below.

Chancel Choir

We can always use new singers in the choir. There are NO auditions. Join us! Choir rehearsal is on Thursday nights from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm. The choir sings at the 11 am service on Sunday mornings.

In addition, there are a few significant annual events including Many Moods of Christmas Concert (December) and Festival of Praise (March).

The Many Moods of Christmas Concert raises funds to support the St. Petersburg Free Clinic. The Festival of Praise is a choral festival where we bring in a choral specialist of renown. Area church choirs join us for a 4-day festival ending with a concert in the Sanctuary.

The Steinway Piano

The church’s 9-foot, concert grand Steinway piano was a gift to the church in April of 2005 by an anonymous church member.  The concert grand Kawai that it replaced was moved to the Chapel and is used every Sunday for the early service.  Enjoy a recent piano concert, "The Art of the Fugue."
